Black Wall Street Had it ALL

Prior to being bombed and burned down in 1921, Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma was one of the most affluent Black communities in the US. A dollar circulated 36-100 times before leaving the community. Until it was destroyed via attacks led by the KKK and supported by local, white government officials, the community was self-sustaining and thriving, even doing better than non-black surrounding communities.

The plot to destroy the community of affluent blacks was well thought out and communicated to those in the white community. Several whites stood on the outskirts of the town to watch the massacre and destruction unfold just as they would sit around to watch a lynching. I guess it was the same thing: a financial lynching.
